Naqib Khan is one of the legends of modern music in Bangladesh. His songs are a blend of love, dreams, emotions and the unique colors of time. He has completed half a century in the world of that song. On this occasion, the Television Journalists Forum of Bangladesh organized a colorful event at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital Dhaka yesterday.
The event highlights various aspects of Naqib Khan’s long musical career. At the event, renowned musicians, lyricists, music directors, media personalities, and his numerous fans and well-wishers greeted Naqib Khan with flowers and reminisced about the moments they spent with him.
Naqib Khan’s elder brother Jalal Uddin Khan Jilu said, “When Naqib cried when he was little, I thought that playing the harmonium would stop his crying.”
Musician Ferdous Wahid said, “Nakib loves music, understands the sweetness of music. He has a tasteful melody.” Musician Khurshid Alam said, “Nakib Khan is the only artist who is celebrating 50 years of his musical career.”
Musician Rafiqul Alam said, “To work in a multinational company and practice music, you need to have a demonic energy. I am very lucky, I didn’t just get Naqib Khan as a friend, younger brother, or singer, I also got him as an instrumentalist.”
Earlier, in January, another event was organized at the Yamaha Flagship Center in Tejgaon, Dhaka, to mark Naqib Khan’s 50th birthday. At that time, Naqib Khan said, “It is a big deal to survive for 50 years and to have a place in people’s hearts.” he also said “I got that place through singing. The biggest achievement is that I got people’s love and respect. There is no greater achievement for me than this.”
