    The 1990s: Rise of Competitive Edge

    1991-92: India toured Australia. Australia defeated the 5-Test series 4 goals to 0. But there was young Sachin Tendulkar blinking with a century at Perth and Kapil Dev with 400 Test wickets.

    2020–21: The Historic Border-Gavaskar Series

    Test Series: India defeated the 4 match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1. Although India made a record low of 36 all out in the first Test, India recovered and won the series including a stunning victory at the Gabba, which Australia had not lost in 32 years.

    ODI Series: Australia took the 3 match series 21. In the 3rd ODI, India won by 13 runs, though the Australian won the series by winning the first two matches.

    T20I Series: India were the winners in the 3 match series against India by a margin of 2 to 1. They ended up with an unbearable 2 0 advantage before Australia won the last game.

    2022–23: Competitive Series with Mixed Outcomes

    Test Series: India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by two goals to one series. The series featured a huge win in the first Test, as India was edging India by an innings and 132 runs.

    ODI Series: Australia took the 3 match series 2-1. India emerged the victor in the first of the series, however, Australia squared the series with a 10-wicket victory in the second of the series and took the series with a 21-run victory in the third ODI.

    T20I Series: India also won the 3-match series against India by 2-1. India had lost during the first match, but then it returned to win the subsequent two matches, which won the series.

    2025: Current Series and Emerging Players

    Test Series: India is now in the lead against West Indies in the 2 match Test series by 1 goal to 0 with the second Test in progress. The captain of the team is Shubman Gill who is in good form with a century in the second test.

    ODI Series: India vs. Australia: India will host Australia in a 3 match ODI series beginning October 19, 2025. The series is likely to see Virat Kohli break a number of records and it will be his first international games since the ICC Champions Trophy.
