Children’s right to education is widely recognized today as a fundamental right. But that right also implies that the school they go to will have a pleasant and learning- friendly environment where everyone will have an enjoyable time. Teachers will be kind, caring and supportive and children will feel relaxed. No harsh words will be spoken to them and special care will be taken of children with learning disabilities.
শিশুদের শিক্ষার অধিকার বর্তমানে একটি মৌলিক অধিকার হিসেবে ব্যাপকভাবে স্বীকৃত। তবে ঐ অধিকার বলতে এটাও বোঝায় যে, তারা যে স্কুলে যাবে সেখানে একটা আনন্দময় ও শিক্ষাবান্ধব পরিবেশ পাবে যেখানে সবাই একটি আনন্দঘন সময় উপভোগ করবে। শিক্ষকরা হবেন সদয়, যত্নশীল এবং সহায়ক এবং শিশুরা। স্বস্তি অনুভব করবে। তাদেরকে কোনো রূঢ় কথা বলা হবে না এবং শিখতে অক্ষম শিশুদের প্রতি বিশেষ যত্ন নেওয়া হবে।

ব্লেক একটি ছোট বালক সম্পর্কে লিখেছেন, যে তার স্কুল নিয়ে অসুখী যেখানে কঠোর চেহারার শিক্ষকেরা নিরানন্দ পাঠ পড়ান। সে বরং বাহিরে থাকতে ও গ্রীষ্মের দিন উপভোগ করতেই বেশি পছন্দ করে। স্কুলের নিরস একঘেয়ে খাটুনি থেকে তাকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য সে তার বাবা মায়ের কাছে অনুনয়-বিনয় করে।

I love to rise in a summer morn,
When the birds sing on every tree;
The distant huntsman winds his horn,

But to go to school in a summer morn,-
O it drives all joy away!
Under a cruel eye outworn,
The little ones spend the day

Ah then at times I drooping sit,
And spend many an anxious hour;
Nor in my book can I take delight,
Nor sit in learning’s bower

How can the bird that is born for joy

O father and mother if buds are nipped,

পারে তার কচি ডানা গুটিয়ে রাখতে।
আর ভুলে যেতে তার তারুণ্যদীপ্ত বসন্ত!
ও বাবা-মা যদি কুঁড়িগুলো নষ্ট করা হয়;
আর ফুলগুলো সব উড়িয়ে নেয়া হয়;
এবং যদি কচি চারাগুলোকে উপড়ে ফেলা হয়,
তাদের বসন্ত দিনের আনন্দের সময়ে,
দুঃখ আর যত্নের অবহেলায়, –
তবে কীভাবে গ্রীষ্ম আনন্দে ভাসবে,
অথবা গ্রীষ্মের ফল আসবে?
অথবা দুঃখ যা বিনাশ করে কীভাবে আমরা তা গড়ব,
অথবা পরিপূর্ণ জীবন উপভোগ করব,
